Goongarrie sees grade boost

PERTH, Apr 13 – Planning for the redevelopment of the Goongarrie Lady openpit gold mine in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia has been boosted by further shallow high grade drilling results.
Metaliko Resources says 26 of 28 RC holes in the March campaign intersected significant gold mineralisation, the best 2m at 16.71g/t from 6m, and identified two shallow high grade zones southeast and southwest of the old pit walls.
The work will lead to a final pit design for the Stage 1 redevelopment of the 20-25m deep pit as a “truck and treat” operation, while further drilling will test mineralisation that remains open down plunge and along strike to the south as a potential Stage 2 project.
