Court clears way for Ebenezer coal revival

7th May 2012

SYDNEY, May 7 – The Supreme Court has rejected a bid by two landholders to review the ministerial grant of a mining lease over the Ebenezer coal mine in the Clarence‐Moreton Basin in SE Queensland, Australia.

The court decision clears the way for OGL Resources to proceed with the $A50M acquisition of 100% interest in the Ebenezer lease and another at Bremer View from private company Zedemar Holdings.

Due to the delay of the court action, Zedemar agreed to extend the deadline for finalising the acquisitions to allow sufficient time for OGL to raise the capital.

The Ebenezer openpit mine west of Ipswich operated from 1988 until 2003, producing more than 20.5Mt of high-quality thermal coal for the domestic and export markets.
