Anglo Asian posts 750,000oz maiden gold resource

8th Jun 2012

JUNE 8 – Anglo Asian Mining has disclosed a maiden JORC-compliant ore reserve of 744,038oz gold at its Gedabek gold-copper-silver mine in the Republic of Azerbaijan, more than double the 2007 internal estimate of 311,000oz prior to the mine’s construction.

The total mineable reserve of 20,312,879t at 1.139g/t gold, 0.293% copper (59,479t) and 9.456g/t silver (6,175,531oz) is derived from the total measured and indicated mineral resource of 37.1Mt at 0.884g/t gold (1,054,382oz), 0.22% copper (81,765t) and 7.215g/t silver (8,608,551oz).

The reserve report by CAE Mining International excludes an estimated 90,000oz gold currently stacked on the leach pad or unrecovered from the leach process.

CEO Reza Vaziri says plans to build an agitation leaching plant to supplement the heap leach operation will significantly improve gold recovery rates, improving the life of mine and economic fundamentals.
