Decmil to deliver new mining village

JUNE 13 – BHP Billiton has appointed Decmil Australia to deliver a new $A94M accommodation village at Port Hedland to support the iron ore giant’s expanding operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Decmil has already begun design work and procurement of long lead items including accommodation units and kitchens under the early contractor involvement deal.
MD Scott Criddle says the contract strengthens Decmil’s relationship with BHP Billiton in the Pilbara region, which has included the Port Haven Village in 2010 and design and construction of the Warrawandu Village, due for completion this year.
