Cat signs another Bucyrus deal

JULY 25 – Caterpillar’s progressive outsourcing of Bucyrus equipment distribution and support has reached Quebec, Western Labrador and the Maritime provinces in Canada with the sale of the business to Cat dealer Hewitt Equipment.

The acquisition by Hewitt and subsidiary Atlantic Tractors & Equipment is expected to be completed on August 1.

Caterpillar has announced similar transactions with other dealers over several months, including Finning International in British Columbia, Yukon, Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
